Jennifer Maidman
Jennifer Maidman (Dip. Couns. MBACP) is a freelance singer, musician and producer who has been making music for over forty years. She appears on hundreds of recordings and has performed internationally with Joan Armatrading, Gerry Rafferty, David Sylvian, Robert Wyatt, The Proclaimers, Bonnie Raitt and Terry Reid amongst others. She has written for, and performed with Boy George and Sam Brown, and produced albums by Paul Brady, Murray Head, Linda McCartney and her partner, trombonist Annie Whitehead. Jennifer toured the world and recorded extensively with the original Penguin Cafe Orchestra, and recently formed ‘The Orchestra that Fell to Earth’ with other original members. She is also currently writing and recording material for a forthcoming album.
Jennifer has been involved with human potential work since the 1970s and trained as a humanistic counsellor with Noreen Emmans and Jimmy McGhee. She is co-editor of Self and Society, the quarterly journal of the Association for Humanistic Psychology in Britain, and has also written for Therapy Today. She is a member of BACP and the ‘Leonard Piper’ group of the Independent Practitioners Network. She lives with her partner, by the sea, in East Kent.
