Richard Bentall is Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Liverpool, having previously held chairs in the Universities of Bangor and Manchester. He has carried out research on the causes and treatment of severe psychiatric problems for over 20 years. He is the author of the much acclaimed Madness Explained: Psychosis and human nature (Penguin, 2003) and Doctoring the MInd (Penguin, 2009).
